The Jewish Home

An Extension of Your Own Home

Exceptional Staff

Families place their trust in The Jewish Home, thinking of us as an extension of
their own homes. Our professional staff members are exceptional caregivers,
guided by a Resident-centered philosophy that maintains independence and
dignity, while enabling individuals to live life to the fullest.

Our talented team includes physicians, nurses, rehabilitation therapists, recreational therapists, social workers, and clergy who support the physical, social, and spiritual needs of every person in our care. The Jewish Home has been awarded a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services in recognition of the care and services we provide.

Meeting Social and Emotional Needs

The Jewish Home’s extensive programming connects Residents to the
community with numerous choices that encompass daily social activities,
family and volunteer visits, and trips to theaters, museums, and other local
attractions. We are known for our warm and friendly environment and
attentive, loving care.

Nationally Recognized

The Home’s medical staff is nationally recognized for teaching and quality assessment programs. We are proud to be one of the few nursing homes approved by the Connecticut State Medical Society to grant physicians continuing education credits. Education and training are regularly provided to all clinical staff ensuring that the latest in treatment approaches are integrated components of service delivery.

We Follow Traditional Jewish Observances

Food prepared in the Home is Kosher style, although there is a Kosher household (Kaufman) for those who prefer.  The Berkowitz Family Courtyard cafe is also strictly Kosher. The Home’s Director of Pastoral Services is a key member of the Home’s Leadership Team. On-site rabbinical training programs are established with Yeshiva University and The Jewish Theological Seminary, Shabbat and Holiday services are held in our beautiful synagogue and on our residential units enabling spiritual involvement for all. The Director of Pastoral Services coordinates programs with community clergy to offer everyone opportunities for spiritual expression.

The Jewish Home is licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of
