1.Jewish Senior Services (JSS) – previously known as The Jewish Home for the Elderly, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization founded in 1973. JSS operated for 43 years on Jefferson Street in Fairfield.
2.The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Campus – at 4200 Park Avenue – opened in June, 2016 and has nearly 400,000 sq. feet dedicated to residential and inter-generational community programs and services.
3.JSS is the largest, fully integrated Senior Services provider in Southern Connecticut – serving over 2,000 people annually. Programs and Services include:
-Residential Services: Skilled Nursing, Short-term Rehabilitation, Assisted Living, and Memory Care – with the first “Household” model in Connecticut
-Community Services: Medical and Non-Medical Home Care, Hospice, Home Together™, Outpatient Therapy, Adult Day, Institute on Aging, Physician Services, Center for Elder Abuse Prevention, and Continuing Care at Home
-Child Development Center (for children age birth to pre-school)
-J Fitness Center (health and wellness for the community)
4.Founded on Jewish values and traditions, JSS continues to meet the needs of Jewish seniors – approximately half of our clients are Jewish. JSS is the only Jewish nursing home in Connecticut. The broader community has chosen JSS as a provider of choice, and most all of the other clients are Catholic/Christian.

6.JSS is consistently rated among the best nursing homes in the United States (5 stars from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services), and operates under licensure from the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health. Additional licensure is required for our Assisted Living Services Agency (ALSA), Adult Day Program, Child Development Center and Pool.
7.JSS employs over 900 dedicated professionals specially trained in geriatrics and related fields to meet the needs of our clients. JSS has operated union-free for its entire history, and is proud of its long-standing commitment to job security (no layoffs) and employee relations.
8.The J Fitness Center opened in September, 2016 and is a resource to the broader community – with over 700 members enjoying our workout rograms, classes and 25- yard pool.
9.The Volunteer Program offers countless opportunities to support Residents, clients and their families; over 20,000 hours provided each year!
10.The Federation for Jewish Philanthropy of Upper Fairfield County moved its offices to the campus in 2016, and their programs and services are offered to Residents as well as the community. Jewish Family Services and Merkaz offices are in the Federation suite as well.
